MY ARTICLE ABOUT MJ =)

Hi! well in the last semester I was assigned to write an article about any topic... and yes I chose to write about MJ, so here is my article!

The Lost of an Icon

On June 25th the world was shocked by the latest news, Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, passed away. The news immediately made thousands, even millions, of fans gathered together in different parts of the world to pray for the soul of the deceased artist. And why not? The world did not lose just a pop singer; the world lost an icon for humankind.

Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 by a cardiac arrest on June 25th. That day, after thousands of critics, Michael Jackson was again recognized as the greatest and best entertainer that the world has ever known. The King of Pop, as Elizabeth Taylor called him for the very first time on the 80's, dedicated his entire life to the arts. From singing to acting, “Jacko” had every single talent that we can imagine. He was a recognized singer, but also in each of his presentations we were witness of his incredible talent to dance, act and transform himself into the most awesome showman of all times.

The History behind the Success…

Michael Jackson came from a humble family. He was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29th of 1958. He was the seventh child in a family of nine siblings.

His parents Joseph and Katherine Jackson were the ones who introduced him to the music’s world. At the age of five along with Tito, Jackie, Jermaine and Marlon, he

would be part of the “Jackson” (first name that the group would have, and that would be taken again later.) In the early years, they played at talent shows, in which they became the winners.

And then, the success began when he was ten years old and they had already signed a contract with “Motown Records”. In that moment they became the “Jackson Five” and with the song “I want you back” they got an incredible success. Michael Jackson, that little child, made history with his performances, because at the age of 10 year he seemed to perform as a man of 40.

By the year of 1971 he would expand his success with his solo c

areer with the song “Got to be there.” Later on, at 1979, he would made his own way in a more mature way with his album “Off the Wall”, which brought him even more success and fame, but at the same time he felt unsatisfied since he did not get all the recognition that he was waiting for. But on 1982 he got the biggest achievement in music history with “Thriller” which is best-selling album of all time.

After that moment, Michael Jackson was already recognized worldwide as a musical genius, and of course, as The King of Pop. Then, he reaffirmed his position as the King with albums like “Bad,” “Dangerous,” “HIStory,” and “Invincible.” Not to mention all the albums that he published with his greatest hits and obviously “Thriller 25th Anniversary.”

And still, Michael Jackson is awaiting one last success, at the end of this October, his last album, “This is it,” which has the same name of the tour he was going to perform in England, is going to be launch to the market.

Michael Jackson, the humanitarian…

However, Michael Jackson was not just a pop singer who came

to claim every single award. “Jacko” was also one of the most incredible humanitarian in the world. One of the most known efforts to contribute the society was with the song “We are the World,” in which a group of artists (including Lionel Richie, Cindy Lauper, Stevie Wonder, and company) got together to sing the theme and give a clear message to the world “we gotta help.” Since that moment, Michael Jackson continued with his humanitarian labor, so he would come up with singles such as “Man in the Mirror,” “Stranger in Moscow,” “They don’t care about us,” “Earth Song,” “Heal the World,” (which is also the name of his foundation that focuses on children aiming for their safe and healthy development to be the world's priority) among other songs to try to create awareness among people to save our world.

According to Kenny Ortega (who was Michael Jackson choreographer), “Jacko” wanted to promote this tour to several countries in the world in orde

r to carry his message, and at the same time he wanted to help the different countries in which he would be presenting.

A family man…

After his dead, the world discovered one last facet of The King of Pop. Michael Jackson, this eccentric man, was a lovely and dedicated dad for his three children, Prince Michael, Paris Katherine and Prince Michael II a.k.a “Blanket.” In his daughter’s words Michael Jackson was “the best daddy you could ever imagine,” that statement touched the world and made us saw him as person as he would have said once upon a time “I'm just like anyone. I cut and I bleed. And I embarrass easily.” Today, Michael Jackson is missed by thousands of fans, but also he is missed by all the members of the Jackson family, those who helped him to go through the difficult times, those who really get to know him and that were the witness of

the born of a star and a kind soul.

Unfortunately, the fate of Michael Jackson was different of what he was planning and his last tour was immediately cancelled after his dead. “Jacko” was thinking about made this show the most special and greatest in his musical career, since he wanted to give this show as a gift to his children, who would have seen him for the very first time on the stage.
